RBAR Las Vegas: Hall out of Sin City air race

At the final stop of the Red Bull Air Race World Championship in Las Vegas, Australian pilot Matt Hall and his racing team discovered a serviceability issue with their raceplane during preparations. The plane is unable to be fixed ahead of this weekend’s race and Matt Hall Racing’s result will be recorded as a Did Not Start (DNS).

A Did Not Start (DNS) result renders zero points, however at the previous stop in Indianapolis Motor Speedway, Matt Hall Racing cemented second place on the world championship podium with 55.75 points.

“Obviously we are all very disappointed as we came to Las Vegas excited about the prospect of defending the race title we won here last season,” Matt Hall said.

“It’s a shame for our season to end like this but we are now already turning our attention to 2017 and look forward to again challenging for the Red Bull Air Race World Championship.”
