Biggest Civilian Air Show to Hit South Australia

Media Release 4 April
ALDINGA, SOUTH AUSTRALIA

Aldinga Airfield will host its much anticipated Aldinga Airshow this Sunday 7 April and is set to captivate local and interstate audiences. Spectators can expect to witness the biggest civilian air show to hit South Australia jam-packed with general aviation, aerobatic and antique aircraft plus aircraft fielded by the Royal Australian Air Force, Royal Australian Navy and South Australian Police.

Featuring as the marquee act, Red Bull pilot and aviation legend Matt Hall says this airshow is shaping up to be a huge day out, "It's definitely a big buzz down here. I've been to air shows all around the world and Aldinga is certainly a very special and beautiful backdrop.

We have brought over two of our Red Bull branded aerobatic aircraft to field in an action packed line up. My colleague Emma McDonald and I will be performing solo's and our formation two-ship display. We will be flying at speeds up to 400kph and between -4G and +12G, so it's pretty dynamic flying to witness," says Hall.

Air show organiser Patrick Normoyle says the focus is on inspiring community and youth engagement in aviation, "We have pro and amateur pilots performing in their teens to their 80's. We have four female pilots and even have a grandfather-granddaughter combo displaying together for the first time.

"I say come day down and enjoy the aviation spectacular, savour the local food and wine, there's freebies, rides, thrills, Air Force cadets, Scouts you name it, it's all happening at Aldinga Airshow. It will definitely be a Sunday in Aldinga to remember," says Normoyle.

Aldinga Airshow welcomes all members of the community, it is a family friendly event that will feature not only Matt Hall Racing but also the renowned Paul Bennet Airshows, The Silver Sharks aerobatic team, local flying legend Chris Sperou, frequent fly-in visitor Tim Brownridge and more.

Much loved TV presenter Catriona Rowntree is also making an appearance as the air show ambassador and avid pilot. The event has children’s activities, market stalls and classic cars on display. There will be something for everyone with non-stop flying action, more than 50 stalls and static displays.

Tickets start from $20 per adult, $12 per child and $45 for a family of two adults and two children. Bookings can be made online via their website. For more information, head to www.aldingaairshow.com.au or find them on Facebook and Instagram.
